The Agricultural Fairs (over 20) are important events for the rural communities of Quebec and some have been operating for close to 200 years. We run various fun activities on agriculture for families and the general public at these fairs. Come and meet us at our educational tent! We can be found at the following agricultural fairs in Quebec:
Each year, the Mirabel Deux-Montagnes Agricultural Society organizes the Country Celebration, a festive event with an agricultural flavor, which generally takes place during the first weekend of August. This event aims to highlight the social involvement and efforts of agricultural producers in the region. Crowned by a festive banquet, the meeting highlights local products and regional agriculture!
This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 45th Country Celebration has been postponed to the summer of 2021. It will be held at the Oka Abbey and will also mark the 100th anniversary of the Chanteclerc chicken. École-O-Champ will hold agricultural activities for the whole family! Hope to see you there!
Each year, the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA) organizes the open door event on Quebec farms! This is a chance to visit producers in your area and learn more about how they farm, their working environment, their products but above all, their reality! École-O-Champ offers various bilingual activities adapted to the open door context ranging from informative kiosks on targeted productions, to the organization of agricultural and educational activities for children.
