For an unforgettable school trip

Information and registration
Ecole-O-Champ believes profoundly in the value of education as a vector of change for our agri-food system. It is why our team of specialists offers activity days in different agricultural themes at municipal day camps and to groups of students in the region of the Lower Laurentians.

Day visits at the Oka Abbey: An unforgettable educational outing for school groups and municipal day camps

Our dynamic team offers specialized activities, in order to transmit the values of local agriculture, the promotion of the territory's products and sustainable food! Add a rural flavour to your day camp by a visit to the Ecole-O-Champ educational farm. Situated in the historical territory of the Oka Abbey, the farm allows people to relive and experience the history of agriculture in enchanting surroundings!

Thanks to our four animation platforms that take place outside in the fresh air, your children will have the chance to participate in several activities :

  • The forest, where the children will participate in wild harvesting and discovery of forest systems;
  • The vegetable garden, where the children will help fruits and vegetables grow in the garden
  • The farm where children will care for heritage breeds of animals
  • The Desjardins Room, where children will explore the world of food transformation and working at a market stall.

In this way young people will be exposed to the agricultural world and to professions of the future, but especially with the origin of their food! Come visit us this summer and help forge our next generation of farmers!

In order to accommodate groups for which traveling to the Abbey would be difficult,  it is also possible to organize educational outings on farms in your region by request.
